In 1755, the French King Louis XV licensed Louis Gautier to produce cognac and this proud cognac house still do even in these modern days. In the ten generations passed, the secret of producing world-class cognac has gone from father to son. Gautier has been in the family’s ownership until recently, but the tradition continues with this highly acclaimed cognac house.
In unique and enchanting basements over the Osme river in Aigre, the barrels chosen by a team of 15 dedicated workers with long experience rests. In this place, due to the natural moisture, the cognac get a distinctive roundness and an aromatic character that is difficult to maintain elsewhere in the world.
