Limoncello di Capri
About 100 years ago Vincenza Canale served the beverage Limoncello to his hotel guests on the island of Capri in Italy.
Today the lemon liqueur is a well-known and popular beverage in both Italy and the rest of the world. Limoncello is made solely from oval Sorrento lemons from the Sorrento Peninsula and Capri.
It is only the yellow exterior of the skin that is used for the beverage and it is important that the lemons are peeled within 48 hours of being harvested. The beverage should be served well chilled.
