anCnoc is a whisky series that is produced at the Knockdhu Distillery, which was founded by John Morrison in 1894. The grounds in the area were full of peat and barley that grew strong in the nearby fields.
Production and distribution were made possible by the proximity of ‘the Great North Railway’ and clear, delicious water.
Today anCnoc is an award winning whisky acclaimed by whisky reviewers all over the world. The name anCnoc, which is pronounced ‘a-nock”, comes from the Gaelic words ‘cnoc dhubh’, meaning black hill. The distillery is located at the foot of the black hill Knock Hill in south Highland.
